Nereid Bio team members participated in a beach cleanup for Coastal Cleanup Day

This cleanup occurred on Yellowbanks beach on Santa Cruz Island in support of Coastal Cleanup Day. It resulted in the removal of about 45 lobster traps and 1,543 pounds of trash! This debris accrued over the course of 1 year as a result of marine trash floating onto the island.

By weight, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by the year 2025. Let's work together to create a solution.
